Time Format

  • Understanding Time Format
    • The 24 hour clock goes from 0 – 24, the moment it reaches 24, it will be written as 0:00 with and a new date start her
      • A new day starts at 0:00
    • The AM/PM clock has no 0:00 PM or 0:00 AM. It starts from 1:00 AM to 11:59 AM. The next minute, it will become 12:00 PM. Then it will proceed to 11:59PM. In the next minute it will become 12:00 AM and a new date starts here
      • A new day starts from 12:00 AM, 1AM, 2AM….. and finally to 11:59 PM
    • 9/13/2009 0:00 is equal to 9/13/2009 12:00 AM.
  • Time Standards
    • The idea behind time standards is that a day should be equivalent to a full 360 degC rotation of the earth
    • Anybody adopting a particular standard will all have the exact time at any point of time
    • GMT is equivalent to UTC
    • uses Canadian date format, mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss AM/PM
    • Is case sensitive
    • No “Undo” button
