Open-Plant performs all the functions of an IoT platform. It captures, processes and serves data to front end applications.

However, unlike typical IoT platforms, IoT has built in industrial connectors (such as OPC, Modbus). This is provided out of the box. Open-Plant can also be installed on-premise, making it a secure and less complicated solution for industrial site deployments.

Open-Plant is also the only Industrial IoT platform which is currently free to download and try. It runs on windows, making it user friendly to an average Joe system administrator. 

Data write speed up to 100,000 tags per second

Typical sites have about 10,000 tags. This is no problem for Open-Plant. From out testing, we found that a standard 4 core 8 GB RAM pc with an SSD drive could easily run Open-Plant serving 100,000 tags per second.

In a production stream, not everything is always on site. Some things are off-site. Fault on these off-site equipment will reduce overall production. Due to this, routine maintenance needs to be done on these equipment. As they are located far away, these routine checks can be difficult and time consuming.
